For Ideation’s creative and media teams, working with iconic New Zealand brands is always rewarding, but when it’s a brand that’s been a part of New Zealand culture for more than 90 years it’s extra special. So when Foodstuffs South Island asked us to develop a birthday promotion for New Zealand’s favourite grocer, we seized the opportunity with the development of Four Square’s 90 Years Strong campaign.
With the objective of increasing average basket spend and transactions over the promotional period, this campaign included the chance to win a Special Edition MINI and a Free Celebration Cake Tin with qualifying spend.
These incentives went down a treat with the desired lift in sales and many stores running out of cake tins as customers jumped at the chance to own a little piece of Kiwi nostalgia.
